EXCELLENT Based on 286 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Funky A26 May 2026 Tremendous business trip ⛳️ Simply outstanding trip with some golfers from America. The rooms are so uniquely designed - with so much thought into the Scottish heritage and Ayrshire feel! The drinks on offer were brilliant along with some brilliant food we all had! The sun trap beer garden was brilliant for some cold beers after our round of golf! The staff were so friendly and accommodating from start to finish! We can’t wait to come back for more amazing Ayrshire Hospitality!Posted on Tripadvisor cpjspj15 May 2026 60th birthday dinner with family and friends and stay Opted to celebrate my 60th birthday with family and friends This included young and old. The newly decorated venue, which has its own bar, has charm and intimacy with the option to extend into the self enclosed garden. We were a party of 55 in a venue that has capacity for almost double that. The set dinner menu was extensive and allowed choice for all The round tables were set beautifully, and we were given early access to add our own decorations. A projector and screen were available and allowed us to add personal photos. The staff were professional, efficient, friendly, and very helpful. When dinner was served each course was hot, well presented and tasted delicious with positive comments being made by guests. The trio of desserts were a winner. We opted to stay over along with several of our party. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very individual following local Scottish Themes. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Breagha Suite which was outstanding. A very comfortable night with a stunning bathroom. Breakfast offered a variety of choices and was a relaxing finale to what was a perfect event and stay. We are so pleased to have chosen the Abbotsford for our special celebration and would highly recommend it.Posted on Tripadvisor Dot M26 April 2026 5 stars! My dear friend and I recently visited the restaurant and were greeted by the lovely Katie. The service was impeccable where staff went above and beyond to ensure our visit was amazing. Will be back soon !Posted on Tripadvisor alan g20 April 2026 Looking for the perfect Saturday Lunch spot, you've found it! Outside looks like a well appointed but fairly standard hotel. Then enter into old world charm with a modern attention to detail. The interior is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. The food is absolutely on point. Roasted beetroot salad is delicious and perfect portion size. Followed by flatiron steak. The lovely server informed me that the steak was served as medium cooked. I asked for medium rare and it was served medium rare with a slight char, perfect. Don't normally eat dessert but had to try the mango trifle. Extravagantly creamy with a real mango punch. The serving staff provided the charm that complimented the whole experience, attentive and very pleasant. Excellent.Posted on Tripadvisor mrmrscwigan19 April 2026 Weekend stay for Ayr Races My wife booked 2 nights here for my 60th birthday treat with a visit to Ayr races for the Scottish Grand National on the Saturday. The booking was made in September of last year so the trip was long anticipated. Upon arrival our first reaction was how small our room was , Scotty dog room, for such a premium price we were a bit disappointed, moving around was a bit challenging and there are no drawers for storage . For a hotel/room at this price range I'd have expected a larger room and a cooler/small fridge in the room, we brought a bottle of wine and chilled it in the sink ! I'm only comparing to other hotels that we've stayed at in this price range. However the bed was comfortable, everything worked well and the hotel itself is a real charm. The whole place smells fantastic and the staff all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a treat with an excellent and extensive menu cooked to order. Staff very friendly, professional and efficient without being overbearing . We also dined in the restaurant on one of our nights , the food was excellent and definitely up to the standard of a good quality restaurant. Lovely location about a 15 minute walk into town or the beach in the other direction. The ultimate question is ' would we stay here again ' ? The answer YES , would love to save up and do it again another time 🙂 ! Hope our constructive feedback is well received, we really enjoyed our stay .Posted on Tripadvisor Leigh6 April 2026 Amazing Food We visited yesterday for Easter lunch with family. The easter bunny was there as well as a magician doing tricks at the tables, he was amazing. Staff were all lovely and very attentive. Food was faultless not one of us could say anything against our choices. I dread set menus but there was plenty of choices so something to please everyone. Was a lovely relaxed afternoon a true family friendly establishment. First I have visited since the change of ownership and its certainly improved drastically. Can't wait to go back.Posted on Tripadvisor Shelley L22 March 2026 2 night stay My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights. We were attending a wedding nearby. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were treated exceptionally! June on reception went above and beyond for us! Ian in the bar was funny and welcoming. The hotel was so clean and bright with stunning interiors! I did fall in love with the wallpaper in the corridor so if I can be cheeky and ask where you sourced this i would be very grateful! Shelley and BillyPosted on Tripadvisor pamlowry18 February 2026 Fantastic stay 🥰 Just had another brilliant stay at The Abbotsford. They have the best staff from Tina herself to Mary, Frances, Whitney & Lucy . Our Room was amazing... warm & absolutely spotless . Thankyou everyone roll on our next stay see you soon 🥰Posted on Tripadvisor MoreOnUK16 February 2026 No horsing around with this gem... Check-in was after three, we informed the restaurant we'd be there somewhere between 3 and 5pm. The messages we received were brilliant in the language used rather than the usual functional communication. They were playful, yet informative. It raised a smile and set a wonderful feeling for arrival. On arrive we were met with a really helpful staff member, full of smiles and guided us to our room. The equestrian. On our way to the room there was this wonderful fragrant smell in the corridors, they were kind enough to let us know the name of the scent. The room was just about perfect, a huge bed, coffee machine, etc etc. The design of the room was again playful without being cheesy. Sleep was really good. The bar was good, a staff who interacted well with customers and the breakfast (included) was hearty and very tasty. The waiting staff was so polite and more attentive than we'd expect. Two minor points; staff had little knowledge of red wine. Maybe some wine tasting is needed! No we weren't asked by staff to say that. The last point; we asked for runny eggs they weren't. The bacon and sausages were delicious. Certainly, we'd stay again if in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.Posted on Tripadvisor Linda T14 February 2026 Delicious flavours at our family lunch! We had a family lunch today on Valentine's Day and a lovely time was had by all. The food was flavourful and delicious, plenty of choices. Service was warm and friendly, nothing too much trouble. The happy atmosphere coming from the other diners gave the dining area such a comfortable vibe. Value for money, will definitely have a family lunch here again. Thank you.
