Was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back! On arrival the staff were very helpful, showed us to our room, thought this service was a thing of the past! We had the Wee Coo room and was lovely, with nice wee touches. Bar was a nice space with a roaring fire and again staff were great. Breakfast from a menu again a bow to the good service, fresh rather than drying out under a heat lamp

We booked Hogmanay party and stayed over in the absolutely stunning Thistle room. Had the Best Hogmanay Party! The function suite decorations were amazing as was the 3 course buffet. Greeted with a piper on arrival and from there on in the staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Felt truly looked after.

Outstanding hotel! Can’t recommend highly enough. I cannot fault our stay. The hotel room (the thistle room) is absolutely stunning. The bed is super comfortable and the pillows are perfect. I suffer from chronic pain and more often than not, staying at a hotel is not a pleasant experience BUT I could literally move in here!!

A real 5 star experience at The Abbotsford Hotel in Ayr. My husband and I have just spent a wonderful 2 nights at the Abbotsford Hotel in Ayr. The hotel has recently been refurbished and has been done with great taste and style. They have put great thought into everything they provide in the room – slippers, dressing gowns, tea, coffee and shortbread, toiletries, etc,etc. We had a 3 course dinner there both night which was very nice, as was breakfast.

Luxurious Home Away from Home. We spent a week at The Abbotsford Hotel, and it was just lovely. It truly felt like a home away from home for all of us, but with all the indulgence of a five-star stay. Breakfast was delicious every morning and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

One of the friendliest Hotels we’ve ever stayed in.
What a beautiful quirky place to visit. We stayed in the Thistle room and the attention to detail not just in the room but the whole Hotel was stunning! As for the bed, I wanted to take it home. Best night’s sleep i had in a long time. The staff were some of the happiest and friendliest we have come across.
